Found this sitting on top of the filter when I unscrewed it. ANY ideas ???? Sort of stringy and rubbery 😨
At a quess, not what you want to find when your replacing a blown Turbo on a vehicle you've only owned a few months 😭

AT RESTJust some old silastic that has been floating around somewhere in the engine and finally worked it's way to the oil filter where you found it. History of application by previous owner unknown.
Yes - excess silastic. That's what the filter is for - to catch stuff like that! I assume the engine has a screen on the pump suction, which sort of limits where it could have come from (unless there is a hole in the screen).
