Guard and bonnet chequerplate - templates?

Has anyone got templates for guard and bonnet chequerplate panels to suit Tdi/TD5 Defenders?

They are so expensive to buy I thought DIY might be cheaper....

You can always make your own using some light cardboard, The flat surfaces of the defender would make this a Breeze to do

They aren't all that expensive to buy imo, I bought a pair of black chequer plate wing top guards a few weeks ago for $110.

By the time you buy materials, make templates, cut, drill, bend and paint them........

Might be worth making your own bonnet guard maybe though, would be easier then wing tops as there are no vent cutouts and its reasonably straight.

Most of the ones I've seen for sale are $400+ (for black ones) and not much cheaper for 'raw'.

chanoo- what is with the vertical chequerplate? I'll bet even with that you can't walk up the side of the doors...
Thanks for the offer but I don't really need to measure some.

FNS - are the spares you have black or plain alloy? If black I'm definitely interested.
