    Tdi Defender wipers... speed control

Never mind those fancy intermittent wipers those pumas have. Real men drive Tdis.
    That aside...

As anyone who has had a Tdi Defender knows there are two wiper speeds available.

When it is spitting you can use "next to useless' speed.

When it's raining more heavily you can ramp it up to 'Entirely inadequate' speed.

Has anyone come up with improvements for their Tdi wipers?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Hi Vled, Don't you want to fit the #99 intermittent wiper relay? I thought it was established that it worked in all defenders. I ordered mine a few days ago for my TD5.

Well my TDI200 Defender has 3 speeds and that includes the variable intermittent installed about 6 or 7 years ago. Mine run fine: the intermittent is worth having coz the other speeds are too fast for light rain.

Do you have a poor power supply or too much friction in the drive? A worn wiper motor?

You are certainly welcome to have a look at my car if that helps but I dont think you've been SEQ since about when I put the variable intermittent in.

I'm guessing yours are just in bad shape. When working properly, they should be fine. You should also have intermittent as that came out with the Defender in 1991.

I would suggest going over yours and getting them fixed up. There are a ton of writeups around on fixing the wipers.
