    Mickey Thompson ATZ noise?

About to replace my Cross contact Continentals. Would go for the same but can’t find any.

Anyway I am thinking either the Mickey Thompsons ATZ or BF KO2.

Leaning towards the Mickeys as we get a lot of mud and very slippery grass once the rains come down on the farm but I also do a lot of highway driving as well.

Anyone going got any comments about highway noise in the Defender from the Mickeys?

    Cheers

    James

I had them on the D1 V8,,, weren’t too bad, but became very noisy quite quickly. Then placed them on the Puma for a bit and they were really noisy. I ended up getting rid of them and sticking with the Conti’s,, probably not quite as good as the MTZ’s, but a better ride all round.

i have had MTZs and ATZs on 2 patrols (back when i didnt know better...).
The MTZs were obviously pretty noisy, but did take a fair beating.
The ATZs started reasonably quiet but as they wore, got a lot noiser.

I recently changed my BFG M/Ts over to Dick Cepic FC2s. Personally I'll never go for a round shouldered mud tyre again, for me it really needs to be square so it actually hooks up on gravel roads. There are a lot of "trail" tyres starting to come out with open mud block patterns but nice sharp shoulders and beefy side walls. Bloke fitting my DCs couldnt speak highly enough of the Nitto's. I might try them next time.
