The triple tube is stiffer and limits maximum articulation compared to the two tube. If you go off road fleet the two tube.
Hi all
I am about to order new radius arm bushes for my 1998 Defender 130. In my research, I see I have a choice of either twin or triple tube genuine rubber bushes. I am NOT going near poly.
Apparently the twin tube is "softer" then the triple tube.
Is there a risk that the twin tube will wear out faster then the triple tube?
Cheers

Rubber like poly comes in different variants also. So durometer, flex, longevity, UV, ozone and oil resistance properties all vary also.
So choose wisely the source of your rubber bushes

Be aware that current genuine bushes are not as good as the originals. 23 years on the originals and you will be lucky to get 5 years on the replacements.
I'll be in the same boat Simmo. I think mine may still be the originals.
I'll buy the twin tube design and genuine. So only time will tell how long they will last.
Getting the old ones out will be the fun part. I just bought a heap of hacksaw blades in case my 20 ton press is not up to the task of pushing the old bushes out.

No need for a heap of blades. Press out the rubber and cut the outer ring. Only takes a minute. They cut easily.
You don't like poly bushes?
