I finally got around to finishing the roof lining (except the interior lights) in the 130. I had been on the lookout for a second-hand genuine lining, but they're as rare as rocking horse ****. My roof lining was totally cactus - not just the fabric, but the structure itself was creased beyond repair. I did consider one of these - DEFENDER 110, 130 DOUBLE CAB – Radio/Speaker Headlining + Rear Window Trim Set + Above 4 Doors Trims | LaSalle Interior Trim - until I saw the price... ~$1500 shipped! You could imagine the look on my face when SWMBO told me to just buy it, right before she helped me apply the carpet (Daley's - Product Catalogue >> Custompile Carpet). I had to remind her that all up I'd spent about $200 on materials, so we were $1300 better off.
I started with bitumen panelling to take out the drumming, then 25mm foam for insulation. In my old 110, I did similar and the carpeted straight over the foam. This time I was looking or a bit neater finish around the interior gutters. I originally tried thin ply, but it just wouldn't bend around the curves. Instead, I used 0.6mm aluminium sheet, which made the job much easier, although it was still a bit of a PITA. Measuring, re-measuring, cutting with tin snips, and lots of rivets later, the sheet was in place. I intentionally left the back curved corners, to allow speakers, but mostly because trying to line that curve with sheet wasn't something I was looking forward to. It actually was easier than I thought making the speaker mounts. After a making a template out of cardboard, I transferred it to 2.5mm aluminium sheet.

If I had my time again, I would have re-positioned the wiring for the interior light, as the panel that it comes out of now just isn't big enough to fit the standard light. I'll need to make some sort of mount, or find another light. I'm thinking of going to the wreckers to see if anything there would suit. I'm also looking to put an interior light in the back, but yet to decide which one.

Don't worry, I had thought about pulling the whole roof off and making a fibreglass mould!
