    Defender Jack Lost

    Hi All,
    Thanks for having a read.

Cleared my car out ready for setting up for a high country tour. Noticed my jack was missing. Got the base but not the crank part......still got some garage area to search but there you go!!

So, I was wondering what people have replaced their jacks with?

I see Supercheap have some cheap bottle jacks. Has/are anyone using these?

    Chilly

I've got a supercheap one for my 110 and it works fine. A better option though is a Disco 1 or 2 bottle jack if you can find one for a reasonable price. I had one with my previous Disco and wish I'd kept it. They are a two stage telescoping design - rather than the common single stage with screw height adjustment - and can therefore lift twice their compressed length. They also hold the axle much more securely when jacking due to a 'U' shaped bracket.

    Looks like this:

I got a 4 ton repco bottle jack.
    It's the polift, I believe. $50?
Huge lift range and perfect for me defender.

I since ditched the factory jack.

The capitalisation of "Jack" made me think it was a person!

The rules are fairly standard for title case:
Capitalize the first and the last word.
Capitalize nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, and subordinate conjunctions.
Lowercase articles (a, an, the), coordinating conjunctions, and prepositions.
Lowercase the 'to' in an infinitive (I want to play guitar).

‘Jack’ being a noun got capitalised!

The English language is a magical thing...a simple statement being able to be understood in different ways!

I hate the original Defender jack. Jacking up the body on a car with the most wheel travel creates a precarious situation by the time the wheel lifts off.

I agree the D1 / D2 / RRC bottle jack is the best for the Defender. It's 2 stage, and the yoke top locates well under suspension or diff housing.

2nd hand prices are reasonably at the $40 mark.

My 2014 Defender came with a two-stage bottle jack with a yoke top. It’s black. Used it today to rotate tyres. All good.

Or if we are typing in German, all nouns are capitalised. Defender Jack Lost
