    110 body lift idea

    I’ve been thinking about doing a body lift on my 110 project, but I don’t like the idea of using little spacer blocks. I have an extra chassis sitting around so it got me thinking, if I weld two chassis together, one on top of the other, it would give me approximately a 8 inch body lift. The body would simply bolt on to the top chassis on all the original mounts and the suspension can remain standard on the bottom chassis without any need for modifications. You can see in the pics, the two chassis fit quite neatly together so it shouldn’t be hard to do.

    It's a good idea but make sure you have the top chassis aluminium plated to reduce weight.

    Hey, at least you don't have to go through all that pesky engineering they had to do with the T5 platform (monocoque on ladder frame) on the D3/4's and RRS. It's already been done for you....

    Don't stop there though. If you double up on the body and roof panels you could not only have a Safari Roof, but a Safari Body too. Think of the better accoustics and how cool it will be in Summer. No need for an air-con. Probably safer in a crash too. I say go for it!



    Bugger, tongue is firmly planted in cheek and I can't seem to unstick it.....
