I need a 12v trigger in the engine bay

I've got a daytime running light harness that is wired directly to the battery and is supposed to sense load on the battery (starting the engine) and turn the DRL's on. It apparently doesn't always work, so there is provision in the harness for a "trigger" wire to be connected to a 12v ignition or ACC source, thereby guaranteeing the lights will work.

I'd like to know ahead of time where I'm going to find this trigger, and I'd rather not have to run this wore into the cabin. Soooo...is there a 12 volt source in the engine bay that I could use that is live when the key is in the 1st and/or 2nd position? If so, where and what color?

White or green wires are switched power.
