Maybe if you told the people that you are buying the van off that your truck has broken down and can't pick the van up so the deal is off they may truck the van up for you so that they don't miss out on a $130,000 sale

Lost speedo? Could be where the oil came out from.
Not sure about that transmission, but I knew a bloke many moons ago blew a Vauxhall gearbox after the speedo drive fell out.
Should see some evidence under the vehicle if that's the case.

I’d say the reply would be...we’ll happy store your van until your tug is repaired or for a small fee we can arrange to have your van delivered.

Either way I reckon Ken, like most is wanting to pick it up, get factory handover than enjoy the new purchase on the way home.

That is the most likely outcome But it wouldn't hurt to try.

I thought the same thing re the speedoneedle sweep.
As mentioned, that would explain the oil loss. I’ve yet to hear from the tech who has my vehicle, but some may remember I was looking at the LS3 or 3.2upgrade.
I’ve thought long and hard, and think I’ll get an 2013 Discovery SDV6 HSE as my tow vehicle.
Just talking with An dealership in Melbourne for an nice, 50,000km unit in stock.
I’ll keep my Defender for non towing tasks.
Hopefully I’ll hear what the issue is soon re the Defender as I’m honestly buggered re not having an vehicle in the middle of my move, van pick up etc.
It’s not cool cruising the streets in an rented National moving van!
    More to follow.

Doubt the speedo drive came out , they are a Hall sensor from TD5 onward (no cable) but if it did old would be all over the back of the car.

More like it was not filled up on service.

A bloke took his Iveco 4x4 for service in Brisbane , Drove home to Perth , Engine seized . Iveco put new crate engine under warranty & then no forward motion , Found Gearbox & TC seized too . Now on his second Engine & Gearbox & third TC .
    No oil leaks.

What sort of money would you expect Justin?
Also, is there better options available than repair?ie aftermarket transfer cases?
Thanks mate. You will be getting my work once I move to Tassie next month.
