'15 puma: no ignition lights or instrumentation, but still runs

Jumped in the car this morning and turned the key, everything did as it should, except no instrumentation at all. No warning lights with ignition on and no gauges. Still runs and the radio etc are all fine, even the instrumentation panel lighting works with the headlights on. I checked the fuses, they are all intact.

Just to back track a bit in case its related:
Last week I noticed the little red dash light for the alarm was staying on solid red when driving. It was intermittent and turning the car off and back on cleared it. But it was happening pretty regularly. I disconnected the batteries for about 20 mins to see if that would re-set it. It appears to have worked. What i didn't notice (embarrassingly) when i started it in the garage to check, was the dash lights are now missing. Only realised when I actually got in to drive it this morning.

I've had a good search on it, but any similar problems seem to be accompanied by inability to crank or start. So I'm at a bit of a loss on this. Anyone encountered similar?

I had this issue and it was caused by me not disconnecting the battery correctly. I just followed the steps in the manual on disconnecting / reconnecting and everything came back to normal.

Dammit. I can't believe this. The amount of times I have done the key on/off disconnect thing...totally forgot.

I really should have picked this up!

thank you - i love a simple fix (however humbling it may be...)
