    rear diff rebuild

    anyone had a rear diff rebuilt on a defender lately? what sort of money did it set you back? my pinion bearings are shagged so i imagine the lot would need doing?

    They really are very easy Dave, like Brian i would love to help... surely we could get a local enthusiast to do the grunting bits while we provide some knowledgeable advice?

    Don't put a 110 diff in there as they have thinner axle tubes. Make sure you keep the 130 Salisbury in it.

    i intend to rebuild what i have so it stays as it should, gave up trying to find another 130 unit.

    I will put my hand up to do the grunt work under instruction from the forum. Would be interesting to say the least.

    I put a Detroit in my Salisbury & you can have all the original parts for the cost of postage if that helps. Approx 180k on them.
