    2.2 Performance options

    Hi all

I have several under the bonnet questions

    1. How many pieces are meant to come with a silicone hose set? And what brand
    2. ECU remap with EGR blank option there's so many it's over whelming
    3. Does intercooler need to be upgraded... Once ECU is done?
    4. Exhaust need changing as well??

I know these are very vague and broad questions any help will be appreciated

    Damo

    Hi Damo

    1. 3 pieces
    2. Speak to BAS (Bellautoservices UK) and ask for mapping with EGR tuned out.
    3. Up to 150kw no IC upgrade is necessary but will still be a benefit to performance and longevity. To run 170kw requires the IC upgrade.

    Have fun!

    Thanks all

Would there be any need to touch the exhaust or is that a waste of time?

In the next 2 weeks I will have:

    • Installed a larger BAS intercooler
    • Installed silicone intercooler hoses
    • Removed the catalytic convertor (non DPF) and mid muffler
    • Installed turbo beanie/blanket and wrapped downpipe
    • Installed BAS remap with EGR delete
    • Installed provent 200 breather can

    I'm hoping for 430Nm torque.

Now that's a shopping list, what advantages does the beanie and wrap do for the turbo? Better heat control?

Yes helps keep Cabin area cool and keeps thermal energy in the exhaust rather than as a loss (that whole loss through conversion of energy bit) making it more efficient.

    Assuming one has a remap with EGR turned off;

    1) what function does the catch can now perform, is it still desirable or required?

    2) Does the lack of vacuum being applied to the cranckcase make oil leaks more likely or more severe?

    Regards
