    Price comparison VCV

I decided to put this up as the VCV replacement comes up occasionally.
The LR part is pricey but you have the option of other brands. This is from a UK stockist and shows the price variation. I replaced mine with a Denso unit. This has 2 year warranty whereas the more expensive LR unit comes with a 1 year warranty.

You can also get a Ford transit unit which is priced roughly mid way between the Denso unit and the LR unit.
This might help some one in the future. Incidentally when mine was replaced no "learning" procedure was carried out and everything is O.K.

Thanks for the post, I’ve just gone through the whole procedure and a genuine denso from Paddocks was $167 (from memory)landed in Aus. By comparison ford wanted $517 and my favourite grey importers wanted $412. I am not too sure of the branding of either but assume the ford version is a denso unit. There are a number of no name versions out there for as little as £55 plus shipping.

Stunned as usual as to how ripped off we are here!!
    Cheers
    Mal
