    Puma vibration on over run

    Hi all,

Currently having an issue with a 2011 D90 that has a substantial vibration at 60km/h on over run.

Thus far in trying to trouble shot the following has been done:

New diffs front and back, replaced with Trutrac LSD's. Was going to do these anyway.
New HD rear axles and flanges due to the usual wear.

Fault finding has pointed towards the front end, as vibration disappears when front drive shaft is removed. A brand new one was installed and vibration came back.

There is a small amount of play in the front output flange of the transfer case, but mechanic seems to think this is within normal tolerance. Looking at around 1 to 2mm of up and down play.

The car is non-lifted, thus I wouldn't think the geometry is off for the front drive shaft to cause vibrations.

About to go and pick the car up from the mechanics, with the coming weekend booked in with me on my back under the car seeing what I can find.

Any suggestions on where to look next would be greatly appreciated.

It has been a while since an alignment has been done. So defiantly worth checking.

Definitely no lift??? What is your front bumpstop to axle housing clearance? Has the vibration always been there?

As far as I can tell it hasn't been lifted. I'll head out soon and check the clearance between axle housing and bumpstops and let you know. What sort of clearance am I looking for?

The car had new tyres fitted about a month ago, due to the old ones having done about 120K and were starting to wear un-evenly. There was quite a bit of rumble and vibration towards the end of the previous tyres life, thus I assumed it was the tyres creating vibration. So I'm not sure if the vibration was there previous to this.
