Wire fell off the starter solenoid? Hot wire direct to the battery/alternator to test the starter.

 300tdi not turning over
		Hi folks,
My 300tdi isn't in a healthy state in that she's not driveable but I've been going back and regularly starting her and letting her idle for a bit to keep some fluids moving however recently she's decided not to start at all.
I've checked the batteries and dropped them on chargers to be sure, swapped with different batteries but the same thing.
I'm thinking the starter may have died but was wondering what the thoughts on the brains trust here are.
So the symptoms are:
Ignition: check
Glow plugs: check
Lights on dash (oil/battery/park brake): check
Turn the key - nothing happens. Not even a click - not even a slight dampening of the dash lights.
Thoughts?

Thanks guys, will have a look / give it a go.
Hi Glen,
Do you still have that earth for your gas system on the firewall? If I remember correctly it didn't start until we cleaned that once before.

One of the 2 relays on the fuse panel activates the starter solenoid, might be dodgy.

She's dead Jim
We can see she's getting power but she's not spinning at all.
Time to see if we can get a rebuild kit or if I've gotta fork out for a new one.
Bugger.
Are you able to roll the vehicle? try to roll start?
