    MAF/Temp sensor

I seem to have a faulty (open circuit) temp sensor on the MAF. My BAS tool tells me the measured temp is -40C and does not change, while temp sensor 2 measures normally (30C cold then goes up as it warms up). If I measure resistance across the sensor, its "open". If I measure voltage with ignition on (engine not running), sensor connected its 5 volts, me research suggests it should be somewhat lower say 2.5 to 3.5 volts. If I measure the pin output without the sensor connected (ignition on) I also get 5 volts. So I'm pretty comfortable that the sensor is probably faulty.

My problem is; the faulty one in there is marked 8V21-12B579-AA but every site I go to seems to indicate this is not compatible.
    eg: This part isn't compatible with Land Rover Defender 2013 LD_ [1990-2016] SUV SUV 2.2 TD4 4x4 2198ccm 122HP 90KW (Diesel).
For reference, this has a curved end that holds the temp sensor.

However, 6C11-12B579-AA seems to be the compatible unit but I hesitate to put that in as its not the one installed.
For reference, this has a squared end.

Can anyone tell me if they are different? Does it matter? Which one should I use?

    Hi
Can't remember the ford part numbers but the one that correlates to Lr019830 is the one you need
Some only have the air flow measurement ,not the temp, which would cause your -40 default reading
