I think I’ve asked before but don’t recall the responses.
Can 10AS be deleted in the program/tune??
On TD5’s it can...well my TD5 doesn’t have an AS10 fitted
Hello all
We bin 'ere before; 'umble pie your worship.
Despite thinking that I had the failure to proceed sussed and fixed. NUP!Monday arvo, dead as dodo with flashng internal overhead light, no isolator LED. All ign lights on just no crank!...................and no central locking or alarm.
However, did get out to 17 months since last time.............. and now I can report that disconnecting, pulling the 10AS plugs and leaving for just an hour before re-connect results in a restart. Now pulling the plugs is quicker than RACQ flatbed.
Next time will try for 1/2 hour.
Any other solutions, apart from JLRA's $3000 jobbie???
cheers
Rick F

Yours doesn't have an 10AS fitted? I have a 1999 TD5 Extreme and it certainly does so, given that this is the year they started with TD5s, I would have thought they all have one (unless it was only in Extreme models originally)?
I guess you have had a look and not just made an assumption based on the fact you do not have a PLIP? Mine has been playing up so I have ordered a replacement which, I believe, I can program to work using my Nanocom.

If you are ordering a new 10AS unit? As far as I know none available. Hence the JLRA $3000 offer.
Second hand - had one from wrecker same date of manufacture, Hawkeye could reprogramme it to match the keys and get the lock unlock function working, however, wouldn't interface with ECU..........and I guess the sensor coil around the key barrel. No Crank!
Then had it tried with the "dealer" big box - ditto!

Thanks Rick
Have ordered a second hand one and the dealer offers a warranty on the goods they sell so I will program it up when it arrives and see how it goes. I guess the critical thing is programming the id to match the ECU.
Oh, also, there is a guy in the UK that fixes these for what seems to be a reasonable price if all else fails - Land Rover 10AS Repair and Programming

I have had a look, defiantly not one fitted......my research indicate all the ex army TD5 had the 10AS removed so they could swap ECU’s in the field without the need of a reader.
I had to get td5inside to change the tune programming when I upgraded ECU’s as the normal program kept looking for the 10AS and wouldn’t run.
Ah, I did not realise you meant one of the ex-army ones. That explains it...
