Question Defender 110 Wgn Roofrack Ladders - What are the options?

    Guys....

Wanting to know what others are using as ladders that are mounted on the rear of their 110 Defender Wagons? I'm looking at a full length version and not sure what is out there atm. I've currently the Front Runner version but thinking this time around of the full length version....

    What options do I have?

I suspect the answer to this is none that are legal. They all seem to obscure the number plate. Pity, as I'd like to go down this path myself.

The ones I have found are the genuine LR one, Travall, Safety Devices and Patriot. The Safety Devices and Patriot ones are designed to mount to their racks.

    Cheers,
    Jon

I like that one. It’s the first I’ve seen that doesn’t require drilling, other than ones that attach to roof racks.

Rear Access Roof Ladder for Land Rover Defender

Thanks for that..... that's something that I'm sort of after.... this is the one: Masai Design Rear Roof Access Ladder for Land Rover Defender 90 / 110 | Rear Access Roof Ladder – Rear Access Roof Ladder – Masai Land Rover Defender Upgrades, Accessories and Parts

EX VAT PRICE: £104.17Masai Design Rear Roof Access Ladder for Land Rover Defender 90 / 110

A high quality product designed and manufactured by the Masai special engineering team. Recommended for use only with our NAS rear step or folding rear step.
For vehicle styling and light-weight use, the Masai roof access ladder can be simply clamped-on to the rain gutter and bolted to the existing body mounting points on the chassis. No drilling Required.
For extra strength and rigidity the Masai ladder has extra heavy duty brackets located at the roof line and tub line where the body of the Land Rover can be drilled and bolted.

For use with rear folding step or NAS rear step. Zinc plated steel with black powder coated finish.
I assume u can still use this one w/o the folding step?
also, assume u can if u so choose to drill / bolt for added strength in the middle?

I gather these can only be bought overseas and not locally?

Sounds like a good idea but not sure how legal it would be with the swing out tyre carrier inhibiting view?

Did u make your ladder or did u buy it?

PO made it from scratch out of 25 RHS

Oh good point about spare, mine was only on the bonnet, no spare hanging off the back.

I think it is possible to buy square number plates which might not be obscured by the ladder.

I just got the standard LR full length one . Been more than happy with it. Kids love it - turns the Defender into a mobile playground.
