Thread: Trying to get the grease gun onto the recalcitrant front uni-joint nipples on a Puma!

I put long nipples on mine. Absolute pain in the backside trying to access the originals. Before I got the long ones I undid the front bolts and dropped the shaft down which allowed easier access to them.
Just another bit of Ford penny pinching/cost cutting which ruined a top vehicle.

Your Tdi will have long nipples?

Get some for the Tdci, Alan said it well.

I bought this needle attachment that goes in the end of the grease gun lead then u just push the needle end into the nipple and works fine on other vehicles I've had but yet to try on my Puma

Not only Ford. My 1986 County had to have long nipples fitted. I put them on all joints just in case. The only way of greasing that front one was to use a hole saw and make a hole in the trans tunnel or fit a long nipple so it could be greased from underneath. Also had to do this on the cook's Ford Escort and a couple of my Valiants.
