    Steering Dampers

My OE steering damper has lost the plot, rattling and shuddering after only 90,000km

Bilstein looks like the way to go, but I'm interested to hear any good experience with others that may not cost $200?.

I use the Superior Engineering one and I'm happy with it.

Get a stock one. All that aftermarket ones do is make the steering heavier.

Also, drive a bit without one. If your steering does not feel tight and secure without it, you will know that you have something to fix. The dampers are good at hiding steering issues.
