the truck isn't worked that hard and only occasionally pulls a 1 tonne van

they fitted a rebuilt transfer case for me just prior to cooma at very little notice for which i was very grateful

it's been my experience that MR back their work and I have never had an issue that hasn't been sorted by having a chat to them.
I would agree, MR Automotive do great work, there are different brands of the rear support bearings, 3 of the 4 types are rubbish, we make the good ones from NKE which we now sell to MR Automotive, your failure may of been why they switched to our NKE ones,

I am reviving this thread to say that there some interesting points raised on Defender2. As stated earlier our 2008 2.4 with over 200,000 kms is still on it's origional shaft.
Another member on Defender2 has posted this "
My 2007 is on its original factory-fitted shaft and is now at around 260k miles."
Another member posted this "I’m at 100,000 miles on the original shaft in my ‘07. I would go for an Ashcroft shaft if need arose."
This from a third poster "I recently replaced mine with a new oem shaft, purely as a precaution as a new clutch was being fitted. I would not have thought to do this but for reading about some peoples issues on here.
Mechanic said there was nothing wrong with the original one he removed - 2007, 80k miles."
