I did a lot of offroad in it and did have a failure once when I had an air leak on one of the hoses, which was easily fixed with a push-in fitting.
After the range rover, I purchased 2 Disco 4's, both had air suspension.
Then, I upgraded to a 2015 defender.
Then only thing I reallly miss is the air suspension.
Its reliable and better than coils.
Im considering an upgrade, but I would like it auto levelling. Dont know if thats posible with a defender.
2015 Defender 110
I installed the airbag man rear kit yesterday. It is a quality kit, with very clear instructions. There were a few things I did differently though. I'll post up a bit of a writeup later. but thought I'd upload pics of the mounts. I have taken measurements of them too, so will draw it up for those that may be interested.
Anyway a bit of a dump of pics. (there dont seem to be many pics on the net that I could find at least).
Pics of the lower mount. It is two parts. a cast Ali top section that the airbag slides over. steel plate below. the plate and the mount are then bolted to the underside of the airbag. The two countersunk philips head bolts then mount to the spring seat. The issue I had with this is that the countersunk bolts simply sit on the plate and you need to rely on friction to get them bolted up. As there is no way you can hold the top of them as they are captive within the mount. Also the airbag is attached the the mount from a countersunk allen head bolt from below. I thought friction would be enough to perhaps get them tight, but what happens down the track when you want to get the airbag off and the phillips head bolts spin inside....
So I just welded these onto the plate to solve that issue.

pic of the car level. It sits level in the mid range of the airbags recommended height. I've got 30-40mm lifted at the front I think. Bit hard to tell as the are TJM coils and I cant work out what they are based on their website.
at about 38psi
