    New Rear Shocks

    Hey Guys,

I have a 110 Puma with a 3" lift and need new rear shocks. I was looking into the KONI's, but have been advised that they are designed for vehicles with only 2" lift, and although they do have internal rebound stops....at 3" they could be touch and go as to whether they will work.

So, what would you guys recommend I look at as an alternative? (Ideally I'd like red shocks too for a purely aesthetic reason....please don't judge haha!!.....but obviously I want performance over looks)

Jack your car up on each rear corner and measure your max. open (with current shock removed......

Than measure closed....withbjacks removed measure the bumpstop clearance and take this away from the testing shock mount to shock mount.

With these measurements you can than surf the manufacturers website and look for the that is closest to your measurements.

That’s what I did on the front of mine but I gave the measurement to Ben at APT and he selected a suitable superior engineering shock.

This way you’re guaranteed the shock has at least the right open/closed lengths.

Oh and you need a good set of balls when using a hi-lift jack, for the rear I’m going to use a forklift.

Oh I did it with sway-bar removed......this gave max opening but on the track the sway bar would restrict travel a bit.

I had a chat with someone at Les Richmond Automotive a while ago and they said that they could do custom Koni Raids for up to 4" lift.
