Rounded figures of $28K to $32K drive away depending on model puts it into perspective.

Saw this in the City today - a little googling reveals that it's ARB's development car that they had at the launch of the Jimmy.

Edit: trying to work out how to spin the photo 90 degrees ...

    new baby shorty

Reading the specs looks like a good little beast. wonder if star pickets will fit in the back??

Payload is probably about the same as the old shorty with two people but a lot more comfortable. Would miss some of the old features though, no dust leaks, drips and speed limited by passenger noise complaints.

The only downfall ive found so far is they dont have a wading depth, apparently the bellhousing leaks water in. But like LRs after a few months all the bugs and faults will be ironed out by the die hardsBaby Defender Jimny

    There's a write-up in the latest 4 x 4 Australia, I believe. 3200 rpm at 110 km/h might be a bit buzzy.

    Cool

Seen one getting it's seats measured up for car seat covers.

    Really neat little 4wd

Looked underneath it and the chassis looks really well made as do all the components, coils all round and surprisingly a lot of room inside. The big rear door will make using all the space easy.

Time will tell but these things could be the next best hing since sliced bread for anyone wanting a small weekend 4by.

The interior really is very small, with a lot of the space in the back taken up by the rear seats. If you were going to tour with it then you'd probably start by taking those out, presuming that's possible.
