    Fan belt tensioner bolt snapped.

Has anyone else had the stud that holds the fan belt tensioner snap?

I'm not sure if mine was too tight, too loose or something else and I would prefer it didn't happen again.

Having the tensioner fall off severely limits how far the vehicle can be driven without creating problems. No fan, no waterpump, no power steering and no alternator isn't much fun.

Yep. Quite a few years ago now but mine snapped not long after it had been serviced and belts replaced. I just assumed at the time that somebody was too heavy handed when tightening the bolt and stretched it leading to failure. But perhaps it is a weak point or may have been some other cause.
