    generally...

no a tdi200 rebuild is not going to cost more or be any less reliable than a 4bd1 converstion.

you wont get a goodish 4bd1 let alone a -t for the cost of a tdi200 rebuild. and then you want a turbo

then you have the cost of the gearbox cause an lt77 isnt going to cut it the HD lt85 will do averagely but even the r380 is not going to have a fun life with a 4bd1 hammering at its nose. Hell driven wrong even the lt95 gets a little stroppy

    Exhaust....

    intake..

    clutch...

did it come with a starter?

    Vac lines...

    fuel lines and filters...

If you dont already have the box and the donk. You'll be lucky to see change from $10k on a full 4bd1 conversion buying the engine and gearbox as outright units.

ME If I was that way inclined...

A perentie GS can be had for $12K (which had a wrecked body and no front bar) you get the engine the gearbox the heavy rear diff heavy suspension.. Grab one of them and drop your body on. Turbo it later...

OR spend about $1K on paying someone to pull out and put back the engine in your vehicle
$500 on a damn good clutch
$1500 to freshen up the box
$2Kish to get the block and crank done with new pistons and bearings.

    $5K tops.

Send me some pics of the perentie you’re thinking of selling? What does it need? Pm if you like.

    isuzu , 200 tdi, 300 tdi?

I think if were me i'be looking for a 300 Tdi to rebuild or if you can get a good one to drop in. there's plenty around, and i think the 200 tdi ex manifold fits the 300 tdi, so you can have a choice of turbos. I have a 300 tdi with a Garrett 2256 VNT. Its a good all rounder, easy to get parts and reliable and not hard on the gearbox. Others know more about it but i think it will fit straight in.

    cheers simmo

Changing to a 300tdi is a lot of work with no gain.
