Land Rover Perentie / Tasmania RWC

    Hi all,

Just driving a Perentie back to Tasmania from NSW, but concerned it may be difficult to get a RWC in Tas - the vehicle currently has NSW reg, door locks, keyed ignition, etc and passed the NSW blue slip (or is it pink slip, I can't remember NSW regs) last August.

I can also get this through RWC in Vic if needed - am I going to be better off going down this route?

    Cheers! Nick

Hi Nick!! That's different!! What are your plans for it??. Yes rego is a bit of a problem here with some places wanting you to actually cut all the portable lugs off the chassis etc... give me a call tomorrow? Can you send me pics to email? I don't get emails at home so can't see them until tomorrow.
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

    Hi Justin!

Yes, decided on the Perentie platform for the overland trip, for simplicities sake, also some other reasons (very expensive to insure the 130 etc).

Have just sent across some emails, will call in the morning

    Cheers! Nick

Excellent. I totally agree with the simplicity of the perentie in contrast to the puma....

A lot of work ahead getting her ready, but I feel much happier about this decision!

Hi Nick, I registered my Perentie here in Tasmania without problems, if you are still thinking about doing this please contact me and I will ask the shop that did mine if anything has changed.

Why are roadworthys hard in Tassie???? Isnt a Perentie considered a "fancy modern 4x4" way down there??

Sorry I wasn't clear - I'm doing an overland trip, and adequate insurance throughout the African continent is $$$ and very difficult.

That makes sense. I hadn't thought of overseas.
