I think it was a 12 gallon drum, which, as you say, was common then, but after that time I can't be sure. Best gauge of scale is I definitely remember the tyre size was 19.75x20.
Before we left Brisbane, one of our blokes claimed to be the only driver known to force a Brisbane tram to back off - the bumper was about level with the tram driver's nose! The truck also, as will be no surprise, had a lousy turning circle, and Brisbane has some fairly narrow streets that used to have trams running down them. No idea what it was doing driving round streets with trams - we had a yard in West End.
