Buying a TDI 300 110 Ute that has been used for towing

    Hi
My dream is hopefully about to come true. Owning my first Defender. The one I'm looking at has a brake controller fitted and has be used to tow big horse floats around. That is the reason they are selling it.
Should this be a concern? Is there any areas in the chassis that could potentially suffer? Where should I look for? It appears to be a well looked after country vehicle.
    Thanks

Check 5th gear. It should never be used for towing heavy loads as it isn't strong enough. Other than that, general drive line wear due to it's history.

As stated 5th gear could be a little overworked but its usually the 2 bearings at the back of the box in the alloy housing.
I would budget a box drop and replace the 2 rear bearings and oil pump not a big job but will put your mind at ease.
The chassis is unlikely to suffer its not a jap ute.
