IF it is oil in the injectors travelling to the ECU, I have a question.

From what I can read through other topics on here, its a case of replacing the Injector harness (Part: AMR6103)

Does the wiring from the injector loom to the ECU to need to be replaced also? Or just cleaned out at each end of the wiring, with a new injector harness?

    Sorry for all the questions

Still no change to strange performance issues.

Just did some more digging about oil in the injector wiring loom travelling up to the ECU plugs.

Looked under the drivers seat and saw this!

So, whats the plan of attack here?

(I am learning so much about this car, and getting much more familiar with things. The confidence this forum gives is fantastic. It has saved me a bunch of cash so far just in searching and troubleshooting. Couldn't be more grateful, thankyou.)

Oil seemed to be most concentrated around this loom. Is this what you would plug a nanocom or similar into? It has a blue harness plug on it wrapped in protective foam, but not connected to anything.

Kyle - I saw your post from a few years back in regards to the wiring loom and how you fixed it. Hows it holding up?
If your referring to adding salastic to the injector loom it was faultless untill we sold the Disco.
Others I’ve heard done are holding up as well.

Some more light reading for you...

With the ignition off remove the red plug from the ECU and look for oil.
CRC Electrical contact spray can be used to clean things up.
With a new injector loom fitted the initial problem is stoped. Changing the main harness is a big job, many prefer to keep spraying out the red plug at regular intervals untill the oil stops appearing.
    Cheers, Kyle

Ok. Been doing some research and testing with the oil in the injector harness.
the harness hasn’t arrived yet, but I thought I’d clean out the ECU (oil present), and the receiving end to the injector harness.

as I was cleaning it out, I noticed that pin 3 was “missing”. Can anyone verify if this is normal or not?

    Yep!
    Missing connector.
I remember when doing brothers, and much head scratching too, that one wire wasn't connected.
Couldn't remember which one to be sure, but just checked RAVE, connector is C0521, all pins listed with the wire colours, #3 is not listed .. so normal.

Just a follow up for anyone who has this problem in the future, turns out it was oil in the ECU and the injector harness fixed the issue - for now!

Thanks a million for everyone's help on here, it doesn't go unnoticed.

    Cheers,

    Tom

Just a follow up to your follow up I replaced my oil infused injectors about 50,000 klm ago & all has been sweet since then, so you should get at least that distance. Reading this,I might just check the terminals again though..
