An after-market accessory for heavy diesels in the 70's -80's was a hydraulic accumulator fitted in the turbo oil feed line. Once started oil pressure charged the accumulator and on shut down it fed back through the turbo through a small orifice to cool and lube the still red hot and spinning turbo. Dead simple. Easy for any competent machine shop or fitters to make. All you needed to start was a crowd cylinder from a loader.
