    2.2 2012 puma defender PO101-17 fault

Hi all firstly i apologise if i am posting in the wrong area, i have a 2012 2.2 puma 110 and when the vehicle is cold in the morning as i am just getting up to over 100km/h on highway i get the check engine light and my EDS reads PO101 which is the mass air flow out of expected range, sovereign land rover in adelaide are currently investigating it as the full code is PO101-17. I thought this would be a turbo hose split or not connected but initial inspections look like they are fine, possibly a cracked intercooler but lets hope not, i know the MAF sensor could also be at fault but i think it wouldnt be that, any assistance would be great.

This is a good explanation of P0101 and how it can be tested and solved.

The under side short right angle intake pipe to the intake manifold is a common failure. Impossible to see, but very prone to fail.

I had the same code. Checked everything including hoses, cleaned MAF, replaced MAF and then noticed huge split in the intercooler. Could be seen from looking from underneath. Replaced with BAS unit and all is good again. Hope this helps.

I recently had an issue with my MAF sensor and it turned out to be corrosion in the actual pins where the plug plugs into. Water had gotten in there and started to corrode the pins... Worth a look at least
