Thread: 300tdi VNT kit - which is the best?

I'm looking at improving the drivability of my 130 - the VNT kits have been on the market for nearly a decade now, and I am interested to hear peoples thoughts. Technology has changed a lot in that time, and it makes me wonder who is offering the best bot on kit.

This is not an exercise in saving money, and I understand that the kits ore not cheap, however this is my forever truck and looking to prepare for long term overland travel with the family - so robust design, and reliability are key factors, not cost.

Also has anyone had experience with ceramic coating the exhaust and intake manifold to help reduce under bonnet temperatures?

I have a Allisport Vnt on my Tdi300. It was fitted 2015. Choose it because it was a straight bolt on. No charges to the exhaust was needed. It made a great improvement to the Defender. Allisport are great to deal with.

On the negative side; only a 3 month warranty. That alone puts me off buying another one.
VNTs are expensive to rebuild, cost me $1500 (after a catastrophic engine failure starved it of oil).

In summary I would recommend the Allisport VNT except for the warranty. Only 3 months leads me to think that they lack or lost confidence in the product. I believe the warranty was longer in 2015.
