    Drive Flanges

So Im running a few different sets of drive flanges on my Utes, Recently we lost drive on one of the 130s up in the bush, it had one of the newer drive flange upgrades, so wasn't thinking it could be a drive flange..it was.. Supposedly heavy duty Tera firma drive flanges with 45k on them, stuffed..
Im running Maxi drive units on my 110 ute, still good after 310,000k, and have 130k on my 2012 130 on standard flanges. Ive put the Td5 130 on Ashcrofts so will be interested to see how they hold up, they look like a very good quality and fit.

How do the Ashcroft compare cost wise with the Maxi’s?
I’m not convinced there’s too much wrong with the OEM flanges as long as they are maintained.

Terribly Fragile are always the cheaper, nastier option.

The others will last forever I’d fitted right Drive Flanges

I agree, OEM are pretty good, I paid $250 for ashcrofts, Im not sure about Maxi drive. The Ashcroft were available off the shelf in Canberra so we could get moving.

The flanges wear out. They don’t break so do not work as a fuse.

The axles were perfect (230k on them), for the flanges to wear out at 45k is just crap quality, better off to stick with genuine.
I haven't upgraded the axles at this stage as Id rather have them as a potential weak point rather than the diff.

Summiitt, were/are you running greased or oil lubed wheel bearings?

    My guess is greased.

I am just under 130,000km with original flanges and also output shaft. Haven’t had any issues but wondering if I should proactively change them out.
