    130 HD shock turrets

    Afternoon All,

I'm looking to upgrade my Shock turrets for tubular HD items - preference would be hot dip gal, followed by Power coating. What are your recommendations? Also I have noticed several must missing from the retainers - so wondering if there is a HD version of this.

As always the focus it budget, but reliability, and high quality build quality that will last.

    Thanks

Pretty sure Ben @ APT is still doing them, it where I brought mine from.

Gives you the option of standard position, relocate to outside the coil or run dual shocks....I think.

I relocated my to outside the spring.

Whats the benefit / reason behind moving the shock outside?

The plan is to ditch the coils and install air bags, have already converted the rear.

Even if I don’t convert the front it makes changing or working on the shocks much easier.

Converting the rear is the best mod I have done by far, complements the pop top conversion nicely. I use them for leveling every other night and or giving more head room under the awning. Also makes adjusting from loaded to unloaded easy and at the moment the drivers side get loaded up more the the passenger.

Weekend just gone we camped at our friends place, no level ground, I dropped the drivers side to the bump stop and had 55psi in the passengers, nice and level. Also, on the weekend we pulled up at the shops, the road had a big camber on it, with spare wheel and two MTB bikes hanging off the spare the wife struggles to open the door, again just dropped the drivers bag to bump stop door can be opened and closed with little effort. Converting the fronts will give me more capacity and will remove some twist.

Whoops, off track a little but given your camper build it might be worth a thought.

I went with Air Bag Man, price wise buggered if I can remember but around $1000 rings a bell.

I just went with simple paddle switch’s, you can lash out and install height rods and controller.

Plenty on here have sorted all the bits and pieces and manufactured their own brackets and save dollars, me I couldn’t be bothered and went with a kit that was ready to install.

The mod plate guy I used was also happy with the documentation from air bag man.

Oh, the APT front shock bracket looks to be better way better constructed than the teriferma.
