Another area people are unaware of is oil temp.
Been watching mine and have seen temps over 125 deg.
Engine will derate at 140 deg.
Looking at another oil cooler system.

I have my ultraguage temp alarm set at 100deg...and back off immediately if it goes off. It only ever happens on a long hill. Dropping a gear drops temps below 100deg quickly. Whilst not as good as an EGT gauge, it’s good to know that temps of 110deg should be ok, so dropping back if it hits 100dg makes it a safer bet.
This is what I have done, BAS 150, bigger intercooler, centre muffler delete and CAT delete, the 110 goes quite well with the ability to overtake slower vehicles, AND the best thing is that when it is 38 degrees outside the cabin remains cool, unlike when the CAT was fitted.
I did have issues twice with other ECU retunes where I holed a piston....twice.....thus 2 engine rebuilds and new liner/s....not too happy with that outcome neither was the wife..... So i switched to the BAS tune instead as I could fit new injectors and program them in using the BAS software.
The scangauge shows the water temp sitting around 90 degrees on the highway and 98 up hills, never gone above 100....
Quick query I'm hoping someone might be able to help with. Remapped my 2.2 this week to 170hp. May reduce it to 150hp for the longterm, just testing at the moment.
Does the BAS remap block the EGR as standard or do you need to select it in the app or request it from Pete? I couldn't see the option in the app anywhere, and Pete hasn't returned my email about it.
Thanks
Roger, I will try again with Pete on Monday. Thanks mate.
Pete got back to me. Can confirm it's standard in the remap now.
Cheers
