Terrafirma Big Bore Expeditions on the rear have transformed my 110

I am in the process of updating my Defender, as it has been neglected these past few years. The ride going around corners has been interesting to say the least. Both rear shocks were shot. Ended up with Terrafirma Big Bore Expeditions. Good price for here, and 2" longer to go with my 50 mm lift.

Body roll is almost nil on the corners now, and I found a much smoother ride up the hill to work. It was much smoother in the corners, but not in the way I expected. Because the cornering was flat, I was able to carry more speed into the bends, and not have to constantly change gear. I was surprised at how much more comfortable the journey was, without constant changes from 4th to 3rd, and back up again to keep the turbo spooled up, and in the power band.

I know it is early days, and don't know the longevity of the shocks, but has proven to me, that shocks are a very important part of the driving experience.

    Cheers,

    Ken

They are heavy duty springs. I believe they are Kings. They have been on the vehicle for 15 years.

Good to hear you like the TF shocks. I had the same on my 110. I found them so good on cornering that i took the sway bar off and noticed no real difference. Unfortunately they didn't last too long though - about 110,000km, but that was after 3 outback trips with many long corrugated roads. I replaced them with a pair of EFS shocks which were also cheap and came highly recommended. They are pretty good, but a bit softer and it does roll a tad more on corners.
