It appears I’ve done 5th bearing
I’m 600ks from home towing
Can I drive home in 4th with no further damage to box

there will be bearing debris in the oil...
so to give your self the best chance you really should try and flush out what you can and refresh the oil but it isn't going to be pretty
you need to take it gentle to be able to do 600klm... imho
and i've been there twice...

SubscriberOur R380 started to make a sort of "thumpy" noise in fifth somewhere between Oodnadatta and Marla. We figured that the gearbox would need rebuilding anyway and that every kilometre we got closer to home (Moe, Victoria ~2000km) was a kilometre that we didn't have to pay a flat top for. Long story short. It got us home and a rebuilt box from 4wd Industries was put in. The rebuild box that went in wasn't our old box. The replacement had had the full Ashcroft treatment by 4wd Industries.
From my experience I reckon 600km taking it easy whilst slow and noisy will be doable. Will the gearbox be rebuildable afterwards ? Dunno - it could end up being a right mess and not really a rebuild candidate.

You will highly likely make it safely home if you drive in 4th
Depending upon what’s happened if it’s bearings or missing teeth you may just have to replace some more bits as a result of driving it home in 4th
Personally I would get another box and put in it when you get home
