    Would this work ?

This may sound crazy, interested to see what people think. I want to mount one of these canopies on top of my tub. Then just put chequer plate across the remaining 600mm. Mount two tyres on the back of the canopy. Probably fridge on dropper slide in side. Sticks a little higher than cab, no more that the rhino bars on roof.
In the tub at the end would be a water and diesel tank. Drawers and a battery box.
Would need to reinforce tub sides an put some cross braces in.
Only thing I don't like with the gullwing doors is mounting and awning. Maybe shorter struts. Thoughts?

Is the floor of the canopy strong enough or is it designed to sit on a tray for support? You might need to build a frame that sits in the bed of the tub to support it rather than the sides of the tub as well.

Watch out if you change strut length. The geometry of strut mounts is calculated carefully. Change struts with a calculated changed position according to where you want the lid to end up. You probably knew that already though (sorry if stating the obvious).
