Just bought the ol girl and put a new alternator in, battery fine, plenty of fuel. It’s the furthest I’ve driven it, being a good 2 mins on the highway. Engine literally just stopped dead about 15 mins into the drive home.
Looked at other threads etc,
ECU issues?
Relay?
New here, Appreciate any help. Thanks 👍🏽

Here's a video to help you out, the wire you're looking for controls the fuel stop solenoid.

I was told it was the timing belt by the mechanic as I had to get it towed there. Hopefully they know what they’re taking about, but I’ll mention your ideas for sure. Thanks a lot guys..appreciate it
Yeah, they have a rubber cam belt, one of the biggest failings of the 200/300 tdi engine.
Hopefully it stopped before any valves were damaged.
Might be a good reason to get the head off and get it all checked.
Go for OEM parts for belt and head gasket, I learnt the hard way on my 200tdi and had to do the job twice.
