			1995 DEFENDER C130 TDI300. WATER SEPERATOR REMOVAL.

I have owned this TDI300 Defender for 15 years.
I drain the water seperator and fuel filter three months.
 Fuel filter replaced annually.

I expect the water seperator is full of rubbish (25 years).
Is there an easy way to remove the metal bowl?

I also plan to drain and flush the 80 liter fuel tank.

 Thanks in advance.

If it is the same as my 97 130 , undo the top bolt & the bowl comes off in 2 sections .
You may need seals before you remove it in case they are not serviceable .

And if you are still using the plastic drain I'm impressed, I think mine broke in 2002 on a Jan '99 first registered Tdi.

If it hasn't already been done, replace it with a stainless steel bolt and O ring.
Just make sure to use stainless, not zinc plated or black as it'll corrode half away before you drain it again in three months

And if you've not separated the unit before, it could be stuck together like it's a single piece, but it's not... Agree - have new o-rings/seals handy.
