Thoughts on a 130 defender 300 tdi issue

130 tdi 5 speed running disco transfer case. Truck runs well and will cruise on 100 kph all day.

Problem : Prior to changing the injector pump and timing belt, i could change from 3rd to fourth revving out to about 95kph. Timing was checked by the local guru prior to assembly . Now vehicle struggles in 3rd when it hits 80kph and if i push it with it feeling like a engine brake or governor is kicking in. Boost is showing ok and it will go to 14 psi. It will not pull past 80 in 3rd, all other gears seem fine. The other night i was cruising along and looked down and it was pulling 115 kph with nil issue. Pick up is fine .

Got me buggered. On a side note i will be putting in a 3.9 Isuzu once the parts arrive, not counting my chickens as they were suppose to be here by now

Im giving myself an upper cut .

Well after tearing my hair out , and researching this forum for days. I find a post where the Bajo bolts on the injector pump were arse about. Outlet in the inlet you get the drift. Each banjo has a different size orifice. Inlet large out let small. You guessed it nufti me picked up the wrong banjo on re fitting of injector pump and managed to fit two outlet banjo's. Going to get the proper one from a mate, and hoping it fixes the issue. stay tuned.

Wrong banjo bolts fitted. Runs as it should now. Its a testimony to the 300 tdi that it made it to the cape and back in this condition.
