TD5 headlight surrounds - what's the purpose of the little grill?

    Hi all

As per the title, what's the purpose of the little grill section between the parker and indicator light?. Is it just decoration or is the a hole in the panel to aid airflow/cooling into/out of the engine bay?

I thought it was for extra air flow as well. Added them to my 300 TDI front end ,plus extra holes behind . More air in can't hurt .

Plus I've got the 200 TDI left hand vent set up for more air out .

    Thanks Sly

The reason I was asking was that I ordered a set to replace my daggy ones on the 130, but I ordered a set to suit the TD5 not the 300Tdi.

I'll dig out a suitably sized hole saw and create some air flow.

These slots on the Td5 Defender are for sound from the horn which is behind the slots you describe in the light surround. Nothing to do with cooling and won't help a 200/300 Tdi by adding them as the inner wing shields the engine bay from the inside of the inner wing, at best you might cool the front tires.....
