New from the USA 110 BD30 turbo instal question.

Greetings from the USA! I just purchased a 110 with a bd30 installed, I was told by the defendersource.com that you guys would be the best to ask on what need parts I need purchase for the turbo installation.

From my preliminary research...I could be very wrong...but can i just throw a td27 radiator, turbo & exhaust manifold and call it good?

    Thank you!

    Hi Jager,

The Nissan bd30 is not a swap I've seen in a Defender in Australia, but I did spend a bit of time a few years ago working on forklifts and excavators with both the td27 and bd30 fitted.

The exhaust manifold flange is the same on both engines and the radiator outlets are in the same place also.
The water pumps are interchangeable too.

    Cheers,
    Stan.

    Sir,

Can you use any old intercooler or does it have to be bd30 specific, having a tough time finding a specific bd30 intercooler in the USA. Thank you!

Any turbo charging specialist should be able to recommend an aftermarket inter cooler based on space available and the engine+turbo specs
