A PARTICULAR Disco wheel onto Defender

A question driven purely by aesthetics. And lockdown boredom. Please bear with! A PARTICULAR Disco wheel onto Defender

I like the look of this particular wheel, which I understand to come from early Disco 1s. I don't think there's a lot of them about.

    discovery ranger wheels.jpeg

Pretty sure it's 16 inch, not sure about width.

    So the questions are:

    - Should it fit on a Puma 110? I think the PCD is OK if it's Disco 1, not sure on Disco centre bore & offset.
    - Should it have the correct load rating for a Puma 110?
    - Anyone happen to have seen any around? I guess I need to check the likes of TRS, etc.?

    Thanks in advance!

Don't really know, but thats never stopped me before..!

It should fit I believe, I think it would be ok on defender load wise unless it's a 130.

Rating wise, I'm not sure that they meet the rating for a 110.... but again not 100% sure

Load rating is often on the back of the rim.
    Assuming it’s ok, they’ll fit.

Vaguely off the top off my head...

    *Yes they will fit
*Older D1 & Defender wheel will fit last model TDCi (puma).
*last model TDCi (puma) & TD5 alloy wheels (boost) wont fit older D1 & Defender 110.

*At some point the Defender hub assemblies went metric and are smaller, the later alloy (boost wheels are the same deal)

P.S if you were asking what I think of the look? then its a big thumbs down. I assume your puma already has wheels on it, steel or alloy both look better than the D1 alloys

That wheel is an aftermarket alloy. The local Bob Jane sold them so I would imagine other retailers sold them too.
A few went on local LRs until the factory alloys became common in the mid '90s.

Yes it's an ugly wheel, I don't like these styles that have a directional type pattern.
There is an OEM wheel like that which came in gray that is the ugliest wheel ever fitted to a landy.

Does the centre part of the hub, the axle drive plate and dust cover fit behind those alloys? I've got no idea but I thought I'd heard there were some issues there? Or was it the (some?) Maxidrive parts that dont fit?
    Cheers

Thanks for all the replies folks. As is said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and it would appear I am a minority share (be-)holder here! 😁

Interesting! That explains why they're relatively rare!

...and I think I know the one you mean - agree with you on that one.
