I removed the bracket the holds the mudflap as I needed to drill out the rivets holding the damaged mudflap in place. As this is the rear passenger side I was unable to do this with the bracket in situ as the exhaust pipe blocked me one way and the rear wheel the other. It was easier removing the bracket than the rear wheel!
I used M6 20 mm thread bolts to hold the mudflap in place. They are long enough to do the job without protruding out the far side. I used a strip of light metal to spread the stress of the bolts. I also replaced the TEK screw fixing the bracket to the chassis. That is the little screw pictured on the mudflap.
