i blew my 3rd gear in the MT82. i did it loaded to 3.5T twin locked on a sand dune at full noise. first symptom was a tick tick tick noise most noticeable at slow speeds the noise was louder than the rest of the car. Eventually i lost 3rd. When the box came apart the syncro separated from the 3rd gear. The syncro is spot welded on to the gear in 3 spots. Mine the welds broke. i replaced 3rd with an aftermarket gear that is welded full diam.
I didn't have jamming in gear. I could feel the syncro not quite lined up and gear changes was tight.
Long and short, i suspect your 3rd syncro is the problem.
If your research of jamming in gear comes from the Mustang mob, different problem. They complain about jamming while flat shifting at 7,000 rpm. the mustang box has nothing in common with the LR box bar the name.
Sorry for your unwanted expense to open it up again
