Without getting into the complete nuts and bolts of nuts and bolts.

*Stainless steel bolts are not high tensile.
*Metric high tensile bolts come in 8.8, 10.9, 12.9
*Dont use stainless steel nuts and bolts without using some form of anti-seize on the threads (but not copper based).

*For goodness sake we are only talking about mounting a winch behind a bullbar mounting face. So any mounting bolts are going to be in compression during most if not all winching.

    Well not really compression either.
The bolts would be under a very small amount of tension (just the clamping force holding the winch to the bar)
As you say, there's no tension placed on them during winching as essentially the winch is trying to move forward, pulling the vehicle with it.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Make sure your winch has the drain hole that faces the ground clear and the other one plugged with a dab of goo.

I have a winch front and rear on the 130, the rear one is pedestal mounted, i.e. bolts pointing down, so the bolt strength is critical. I emailed Warn for advice on the bolts when I set this up and their advice (which they happily and helpfully gave) was an 8.8 rather than higher grade as they have found that the higher tensile is less forgiving in shear and this provides better service for this application.
As an aside then have you got pics of the rear winch?

And how have you got you winches wired up?

Couldn't find any pictures that show the winch in any meaningful way; wouldn't have much relevance anyway as the mounting and bar work was fabricated from scratch to incorporate the winch mount. I needed to build a rear bar setup as the previous owner had it set up with the tail lights on a big aluminium arrangement that hung down underneath the rear end, resulting in a very poor departure angle; I had a winch from a previous vehicle so decided to incorporate it in the new rear bar. A rear winch has turned out to be a very useful thing. Both winches are wired direct to the main battery independently.

Ah cheers. I reckon when I wire my vehicle I will make provision for a winch to plug in and have a winch mounted to an appropriate frame which can be used in the Hayman Reece receiver.

And then just see if a cheap warn winch ever comes up for sale anywhere.
