pics of the blow out and pic of the 2 points securing the piston to the axle. plastic plug that a 6mm bolt passed through and a bolt into plastic. That's what happens when you dick around manually airing up the rear to full extension and the weight shifts to the front. Add a little side slope and the side and downward forces on the piston from a near 3T vehicle is a bit too much for the 2 points securing it. lesson learned.

Has anyone here actually added the Air suspension to their Defender?

    …..
Thanks in anticipation and best wishes all.

I have VB Air Suspension (Netherlands). Installed it about 2.5years ago. Have done 60k km’s on it. Awesome mod. ‘Access height’ for car parks, ‘Sports mode’ for driving on bitumen, ‘standard’ for pretty much anything else, ‘extended height’ now and then for deep water or boulders, ‘Auto Level’ most nights for the last 7 months :-D.
I also fitted the emergency inflation kit - just means you can pump up each bag manually Also means I can let all of the air out and drop it onto its bump stops so i can >just< squeeze it in my garage when i want to mothball it.

oh, and the main reason, I have a 70L water tank under left sill. Sits nice and flat with the air suspension.
